Challenge
As a major academic health center continued to advance its digital health infrastructure, the organization faced two parallel challenges. First, it needed expert ambulatory systems–specifically in areas such as reporting, ongoing system maintenance, and workflow enhancements. Second, with the opening of a new 144-bed inpatient hospital in 2024, the client required a rapid and seamless implementation of Epic across critical applications to support clinical, revenue cycle and operational functions from day one.
Solution
To address both the ongoing ambulatory needs, and the demands of the new hospital go live, the client engaged a select group of Epic consultant partners, including Pivot Point Consulting. Pivot Point deployed a targeted team of Epic-certified experts to:
- Provide ongoing support for ambulatory, Epic environments, include system, optimization, analytics/reporting enhancements, and maintenance of clinical and operational workflows.
- Deliver specialized implementation build resources for key inpatient Epic applications including Hospital Billing (HB), ASAP (Emergency Department), OpTime (Surgical Services), and Beaker (Laboratory).
- Offer technical consulting expertise to ensure successful configuration, testing, and rollout of Epic across the newly constructed facility.
